Media Maven crafts narratives that drive action, strengthen identity, and build connections. As a senior producer, assistant director, and editor, Kala is an award-winning filmmaker recognized by Schön! Magazine, Indie Shorts Mag, Midwest Film Festival, and Dances With Film.
Her work has also been highlighted in Cinema Femme Magazine, Ambassador, and the Pen Picture Chat podcast for seamlessly blending culture, creativity, and community into engaging storytelling.
Kala has discovered her passion for assisting brands in articulating their narrative and transforming it into cinematic media, enabling clients to achieve meaningful impact through strategic vision.
The Rise of The Maven
Born and raised in South Carolina, Kala arrived in Chicago, IL, in 2019 and began her career as a production coordinator on The Carbonaro Effect Season 5 with TruTV.
Since then, she has advanced in the industry as an assistant director, creative producer, and editor for agencies, firms, and studios throughout the Chicagoland area.
She excels at leading teams and has found a home in Media Maven by following a very special niche in social impact and brand identity. Her passion projects are rooted in documentary storytelling.
